Shruti Sharma was born on 1st March 1997 in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. Her father’s name is Sunil Dutt Sharma who is an architect by profession and her mother’s name is Rachna Sharma (Housewife). As of 2024, she is 27 years old.

In Shruti Sharm’s family mostly people are doctors and engineer. like her great grandfather Dayaswaroop Sharma and her grand father Devendra Dutt Sharma were one of the most famous doctors of Bijnor. Her father is an architect by profession.

Despite this family background she chose history in her graduation and became the first family member to study any humanitarian sucject. As per Shruti, she always wanted to be a civil servant. Shruti was born in Bijnor city of Uttar Pradesh. But her parents shifted to Delhi only after Shruti’s birth. Therefore, from childhood till post-graduation, Shruti studied in Delhi.

After completing 12th, Shruti Sharma completed her graduation with History subject from Saint Stephen’s College, Delhi University. After completing graduation, he took admission to do post-graduation in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics. Along with this, Shruti was also preparing for civil services. During her post graduation itself, she got selected in Civil Services and now she became an IAS officer.

Shruti was an English medium student. But while applying for UPSC CSE 2020 Mains, she mistakenly wrote Hindi Medium instead of English Medium. Despite being an English medium student, she wrote the mains paper in Hindi language. But she could not clear mains this year with only 1 mark.

Learning from her mistakes, she applied for UPSC again in the year 2021. This year in her second attempt, on the basis of her hard work, Shruti not only cracked exam like UPSC CSE but also made her parents proud by securing All India Rank 1 and also fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming an IAS officer.

She was a student of Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) which is a free residentail coaching program by Jamia Millia Islamia University in her second attempt.

After becoming an IAS officer she also got her home cadre which is Uttar Pradesh. This is a dream for every IAS officer to get their home cadre.
